This appointment takes a short period of time, anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour, and healing takes around four to six months depending on which part of the mouth your dental implants are placed. During this time, the bone and the implant will fuse together, meaning the bone grows into the implant. There’s nothing more permanent than that! So continue to wear your temporary dental replacement appliance until your next appointment.
The third appointment is to uncover the healed dental implant and to place a healing cuff on it to prepare the tooth for your final appointment. Then, in only one to two weeks, you can schedule for your permanent restoration appointment and complete the process. This is the point in which a crown, bridge or dentures are used to complete your brand new, beautiful smile.
